This course is for schools needing to rapidly improve outcomes for pupils, schools needing a fresh start and/or a change of culture within the whole school community.
It revisits the purpose of education, the rational of the curriculum and helps schools to rapidly establish the environment in which teachers and staff can flourish both personally and academically. The OFSTED Framework is explored through 'values-lenses' with focus on improvement in all key areas: Effectiveness of Leadership and Management; Quality of Teaching, Learning and Assessment; Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare; outcomes for Children and Other Learners.
The majority of schools in this position who go on to introduce VbE effectively achieve a "Good" or "Outstanding" OFSTED rating within two years.
It is ideally delivered as a whole day's INSET to all staff and governors if possible. Flexible arrangements can be made if required (ie, half days, series of twilight sessions etc).
The training will take into account the school's context and desired outcomes for the training and how it will support the next phase of the school's journey.
