Values Days
This section provides information on and links to initiatives designed to mark days in the calendar to focus on aspects of values.

World Values Day
In 2016, World Values Day is being held on Thursday 20 October.

World Values Day calls us to think about our most deeply held values and to act on them. If we are aware of our values and put them into action each and every day, we can change our lives and change the world we live in.

We are co-organising, with the Human Values Foundation, a moderated, online discussion session for students to express their views on values, called the Values Jam. It is open to all VbE schools to participate.

World Peace Day
In 2016, World Peace Day is being held on 21 September. The day is dedicated to world peace, and specifically the absence of war and violence. The day is formally inaugurated by the United Nations who ring their Peace Bell at UN Headquarters in New York City. The bell is cast from coins donated by children.

We are preparing some resources, including an assembly, for schools to focus on Peace. Contact us for more information on what is available.
