Case Studies
A handful of VbE case studies is set out below.
Hill Farm Primary
The school has researched and quantified the positive impact on student behaviour since introducing Values-based Education five years ago. One of its conclusions was that "the embedded values-based education steers children towards kindness and responsibility, fostering an inclusive environment where children feel they belong".
Chantry Primary Academy
“Of the many values-based projects the school does, this one has had a hugely positive impact on her young pupils and on the elderly folk in the community.”
Cori Bateman, Executive Principal
Stepping Stones Pupil Referral Unit
Stepping Stones is a primary pupil referral unit and provides educational placement for up to 32 primary pupils aged between 5-11 who have been permanently excluded or at great risk of permanent exclusion
Lodden Primary School
“Our decision to follow the principles of VbE stemmed from the belief that it would support us in our aim to develop a community of resilient learners, who work their hardest to achieve well across a broad range of skills and knowledge. It also, we felt, had the potential to unite us in a common philosophy for our whole school community which, in turn, would strengthen our ethos and improve team work and well-being.”
Sarah Phillips, Head Teacher
The Valley School
The Valley School in Stevenage is a Secondary Special School. It recently discovered VbE and it’s having quite an impact already.
Hillside Primary
Already embedding a Values-based culture and curriculum, they have since been inspired to take their work further and deepen the understanding and ‘living’ of values through the whole school community.
